11th Gdańsk Dance Festival: “Residency / Premiere 2018” Competition – call for applications

Club Żak is pleased to invite entries to the Residency/Premiere 2018competition which accompanies the 11th Gdańsk Dance Festival. Applicants are welcome to submit projects of pieces in broadly conceived contemporary dance. The purpose of the competition is to support and promote contemporary dance and contemporary ballet. The contest is addressed to Polish dancers and participants of the Solo Dance Contest, organised by Club Żak as part of the Gdańsk Dance Festival. Entries may be submitted by persons living in Poland since 1 January 2018 (or longer) and by dancers based abroad who presented their pieces at the Solo Dance Contest, organised as part of the Gdańsk Dance Festival in 2014-2018. Those selected will be assisted by mentors – eminent dancers and choreographers: Patricia Apergi  (Greece), Eva Duda (Hungary) and Jean Gaudin (France).

 

Applications should be submitted by 28 November 2018, 11 pm, at the latest.

 

 

Poznań: “Dances with Camera” short dance film competition at the Short Waves Festival 2019

The Short Waves Festival 2019 is pleased to announce an open call for submissions for the Dances with Camera short film competition, which will take place on 19-24 March 2019 in Poznań. This year’s festival will mark the 6th edition of the Dances with Camera contest.

Warsaw/Dance From Israel: “GaGa people” workshops

As part of the programme of accompanying events at the Dance From Israel review curated by Tadeusz Woleński, on 31 August-2 September Warsaw Dance Department will host “GaGa people” workshops. The event is addressed to all interested parties who are over 16, regardless of their previous movement- and dance-related experience. Taught by dancers collaborating with Ohad Naharin, each class lasts 1 hour. Tutors will try to influence the imagination of participants, inspiring them towards their own interpretations of the assigned themes.

 

Tickets: 60 PLN for a single class / 240 PLN for the entire cycle
