Bartosz Anczykowski a soloist in the Polish National Ballet. He graduated from the Roman Turczynowicz State Ballet School in Warsaw, then he studied at Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace, Monte Carlo. In 1995 he won Second Senior Prize at the 9th Dance Competition in Gdańsk. He won scholarships of the Polish Children’s Fund three years in a row. He also won the title The Best Graduate of the Ballet Schools in Poland as well as Prize for Partnering and Fair Play Prize at the 10th Polish Dance Competition in Gdańsk (1997). In the same year, he received Audience Prize of the 7th Eurovision Competition for Young Dancers in Gdynia and Scholarship of the Nureyev Foundation to study at Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace. In 19951997, he performed at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw as a guest dancer. Then he spent three years dancing with Ballett des Theaters Magdeburg, and in 19992000 with Leipziger Ballett. In the seasons 20002009, he worked as a soloist in Thüringen Ballett, Altenburg-Gera. Winner of: Bronze Senior Prize of the Concorso Eurocity citt di Livorno and Fourth Place at the 6th International Ballet Competition in Jackson (1998); Prize for the greatest dance soloist of the Free State of Thuringia (twice, in 2002 and 2005), Prize of Thuringia Critics Favourite Face of the Theatre for the most popular ballet soloist (2007, Gera). Since 2009, he has been a first soloist of the Polish National Ballet.
His roles include: Envious Baron in Tristan, Alabama Song & Mussel of Margate in Kurt Weill, Mischievous Little Mouse in The Nutcracker (Andrzej Glegolski), Carnival Mask in Romeo and Juliet (Emil Wesołowski), Soloist in the Bolero in Chopin, the Romantic Artist (Patrice Bart), Cinderella’s Step-Sister in Cinderella (Frederick Ashton), Man in Persona (Robert Bondara), Don Juan & Clara’s Brother in The Nutcracker as well as solo parts in The Green (Wubbe) and And the Rain Will Pass… (Pastor).
