Małgorzata Mielech is a choreographer, dancer, GaGa instructor, dance pedagogue, the founder of the artistic project DanceLab. She graduated from the Olga Sławska-Lipczyńska Ballet School (2007) and Gaga Teachers Training Course (2018), which was held under the artistic direction of Bosmat Nossan and Saar Harari and with the mentoring assistance of Ohad Naharin. In 20072012 she was a soloist in the Polish Dance Theatre. She featured in almost all dance pieces of the PDTs repertoire, choreographed, among others, by Ohad Naharin, Yossi Berg, Jacek Przybyłowicz, Yoshifumi Inao, Ewa Wycichowska, Gunhild Bjrnsgaard, Paulina Wycichowska, Thierry Verger.
Daily she works in DanceLab an artistic project that she initiated in 2012. As the leader of DanceLab, she created the following performances FearLess, Sababa, NILREB, Anonymous, Imperfect with which tours in Poland and abroad. As part of DanceLab she also invites guest choreographers for example, Shi Pratt created the performance We Bleed The Same Colour.
Her latest performance, FearLess, was selected for the Polish Dance Networks 2020/2021 season and has so far been presented in Poland, Norway and India. In 2020, she received a creative grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for the creation of a dance theatre performance. The premiere of the performance will take place in June 2021 at the Cracow Choreographic Centre.
She won the award for The Most Abstract Idea award at the Licht.blicke. Festival in Nuremberg, where she presented her performances. She co-operated with the Dutch-Israeli duo Uri Ivgi & Johan Greben. She danced in Uri Ivgi & Johan Grebens most recent productions and their older repertoire. She is artistically involved in various interdisciplinary artistic projects, both as a performer and choreographer, she also serves as an artistic counsellor for music videos and photo sessions. She co-operated with, among others: Ray Wilson, Apparat and DJ An on Bast.
As a pedagogue, Mielech teaches DanceLab repertory at various festivals in Poland and abroad. She is also a guest teacher in Scottish Dance Theatre (Dundee), Bangkok City Ballet (Thailand), Regionteater Väst (Uddevalla, Sweden), ilDance (Gothenburg, Sweden), T.H. E Dance Company (Singapore), Lasalle – Collage of the Arts (Singapore), Polish Dance Theatre in Poznań, Grand Theatre National Opera in Warsaw, Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts Dance Theatre Faculty in Bytom, Secondary Ballet School in Poznań. She also gives classes in GaGa, contemporary dance, M.O.V.E. and improvisation in New Zealand, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Brussels, Poland, Scotland, France, Austria, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, India and Israel.
She created GoPiYoga a unique form of movement designed (not only) for dancers.
In 2021, she received the Medal of Young Art (2021) granted by the daily newspaper Głos Wielkopolski to artists from the Wielkopolska region who have greatly contributed to the development of Polish culture.
