Irina Wasilewska is a soloist of the Polish National Ballet. She graduated from the State Ballet School in Minsk, Belarus in 1993 and was engaged by the Ballet of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus as coryphée. In 1996 she joined the Renaissance Company in Moscow, yet moved to Warsaw in April 1997 to become a coryphée with the Ballet of the Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera. In 1998 she was promoted to soloist. In Warsaw she has danced both in the classical and contemporary ballet pieces.

 

Among the highlights are Russian Princess and Four Swans in Swan Lake; Fairy of the Generosity, Fairy of Sapphires, and Cat in The Sleeping Beauty; Lise’s Friend in La fille mal gardée; Carnival Mask in Romeo and Juliet; Soloist in the Waltz of Flowers and The Snow Queen in The Nutcracker; Pas daction in La Bayadre; Betsy in Anna Karenina; Fairy Summer in Cinderella. She has also danced solos in Tylko Miłość choreographed by Sławomir Woźniak, a ballet bill choreographed by Jiří Kylián, Stabat Mater by Ewa Wycichowska, Tristan and Kurt Weill by Krzysztof Pastor, as well as The Kisses by Emil Wesołowski.
