Konrad Szymańskiwas born in 1981. He is a dancer, choreographer, performer and photographer. He studied dance at the Rotterdam Dance Academy CODARTS and economy at the University of Łódź, majoring in non-conventional forms of financing. He debuted as choreographer in 2007 with Solo.06,which was produced under the Solo Projekt scholarship programme in Poznań. Initially, due to Szymański’s injury, the solo was performed by Aleksandra Borys, then the author took over. His second solo Inevolutionary came in 2010. Szymański is involved in dance improvisation, contributing to many improvised projects which bring together dancers and musicians, e.g. in Rotterdam and Łódź. In 2009 he took part in maProject, a joint endeavour of Lithuanian, Dutch, Polish and Bulgarian artists (as part of Vilnius – European Capital of Culture), while in 2007-09 he was part of Ruimte in Beweging, a performing arts theatre based in Schiedam, the Netherlands: http://www.ruimteinbeweging.nl).
Since 2010 Szymański has been running the Open Study of Improvisation – Meeting Point in Łódź, offering open improvised performances fusing different artforms.
