Monika Maciejewska – first ballet soloist in the Grand Theatre in Łódź. She graduated from the Feliks Parnell State Ballet School in Łódź. Currently she studies ballet pedagogy at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. She has performed at the Grand Theatre in Łódź since 1998. She received many awards and honourable mentions for artists, among others: Award for the Best Ballet School Graduate (1998), awarded in 1998 by Balet Foundation, Leon Schiller award for young artist of 2003 for remarkable achievements in the art of ballet for the role of Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Nefertiti in Akhenaton and the title role in Giselle granted by Polish Stage Artists Association (ZASP), Award of the Marshal of Łódź Province for exceptional artistic achievements. Her works include almost every leading part of the ballets presented by the Grand Theatre in Łódź: title parts in Giselle and Snow White, Swanhilde in Coppelia, Fate, Constance, Mother in Amadeus, Anka in The Promised Land, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Pola Negri in a show Valentino, Shadow solo in Die Bayadere, Nefertiti in the opera Akhenaton. She played the title roles in Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty(she also danced the role of Beauty Fairy) as well as Odette/Odile and
Hungarian Princess in Swan Lake.
