Włodzimierz Kaczkowski – director, translator, author of dance theatre scenarios, theatre producer, director of Scena Współczesna Theatre (Stara ProchOFFnia), and of Scena Współczesna Foundation. He graduated in theatre studies and directing at the School of Drama in Warsaw. He created around 30 performances, i.e. performances directed by himself (The Threepenny Opera by Brecht, Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare and others) and productions of its own adaptations (Le grand testament by Villon, Bacacay by Gombrowicz). He has also translated plays (Okruchy czułości by Neil Simon and Klucz by Lyudmila Razumovskaya were produced with Teatr TV). He directed many plays which appeared in Poland for the first time (Pterodactyls by Nicky Silver, Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield).
He wrote scenarios for dance theatres, from Nienasycenie and Tylko raz w życiu (Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw) to the performances of Zawirowania Dance Theatre Przytul mnie, Jeśli kochasz zabij or Innocent when you dream (Stara ProchOFFnia). He collaborated with Zawirowania Theatre as a director (W stronę światła… z zawiązanymi oczami and Innocent… mentioned above). He produced many theatre performances (The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) were played 1100 times in 12 years), he organized reviews of contemporary drama in Stara ProchOFFnia (3 editions). He is the president of Scena Współczesna Foundation. He is also the principal organizer of Zawirowania Dance Theatre Festivals; currently he is the chairman of the Dance Commission at the Cultural Service of the City of Warsaw.
