We are delighted to report that the students of the Janina Jarzynówna-Sobczak High School of Ballet in Gdansk, Daria Nasiedkina and Maciej Duda finished third and received bronze medals in the category “Classical and Modern Dance, Solo, Duos State Schools, Professionals” at the 2023 International Tanzolymp Competition.
On February 16-20, 2023, 9th grade students Daria Nasiedkina and Maciej Duda took part in the 2023 International Tanzolymp Berlin Competition. They were trained by their teachers Irena Tarasiewicz and Andrzej Stasiewicz.
The students returned to their home country as victors, finishing third and receiving bronze medals in their respective age groups: Maciej Duda performed in the “Classical Dance Solo/ Age Group 3 (Men)” category, while Daria Nasiedkina danced in the “Classical Dance Solo/ Age Group 4 (female)” category.
About the festival:
The TANZOLYMP International Dance Festival, held annually in Berlin under the theme “Dance as a Global Language,” allows participants to meet young male and female artists from around the world while participating in master classes, seminars and competitions. The overarching goal of the festival is to support and popularize dance. In addition to the international exchange of practices embedded in different dance aesthetics and styles, the festival exposes those who participate to a wide spectrum of various dance genres and traditions.
