Part of the spirit of the European Capitals of Culture consists of programmes and joint projects organised to strengthen and create bidirectional flows between the chosen cities. The San Sebastian 2016 Foundation has organised the festival featuring dance and theatre projects by different companies from Poland with the aim of supporting and building bridges between the two cities that have been the European Capitals of Culture in 2016 (Wrocław and San Sebastian). The festival emphasises the value of performing arts as a universal language. The performances are related to the main theme of San Sebastian 2016: living together and peace.
The following artists will show their works as part of ?Polish Dance and Theatre Week in Donostia San Sebastian? on 16-20 December 2016: Radek Hewelt and Filip Szatarski, Sławek Krawczyński and Anna Godowska, Natalia Pieczuro, Agata Siniarska, Magdalena Jędra, Iza Szostak and Weronika Pelczyńska (in cooperation with Komuna//Warszawa), and Tomasz Ciesielski, whose works verge on dance, theatre, performance. Moreover, the festival will also feature performances by physical theatre groups associated with The Jerzy Grotowski Institute in Wrocław: ZAR Theatre and Studio Matejka, and by an independent As Spectatores Theatre from Wrocław.
