The ballet rooms of the Polish National Opera are currently hosting this year?s edition of choreographic workshops with the Polish National Ballet. Their artistic effects will be presented on the Chamber Stage during the ballet night Creations 9 (11 March 2017, 7 pm, and 12 March 2017 (12 am, 6 pm). The workshops were initiated by the director of the Polish National Ballet, Krzysztof Pastor, who over the years has actively sought out new talents and supported emerging Polish ballet choreographers. Previous editions of the event resulted in several proposals extended to Warsaw dancers, who were enabled to create major choreographies included in the repertoires of the Polish National Ballet and other companies. Rober Bondara has created choreographies for such ensembles as the ballet company of the Wrocław Opera, the ballet company of Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the Vilnius Ballet, and the Kennedy Center. Jacek Tyski, on the other hand, has choreographed for the Kielce Dance Theatre, the ballet company of Opera na Zamku in Szczecin, and the Gran Canaria ballet company, while Anna Hop?s choreographies have been presented in Oslo and at Opera na Zamku in Szczecin.
This year?s group of dancers who will attempt to create choreographic miniatures includes Lorenzo Alberti, Michał Chróścielewski, Joanna Drabik, Dan Ozeri, Łukasz Tużnik, Stella Walasik, Bartosz Zyśk and, for the first time, the choreographic duo of Paulina Jurkowska and Paweł Koncewoj.
