The seventh edition of Creations, the Polish National Ballet’s choreographic workshop will conclude with the showcase of the ballet miniatures created by its 9 participants: Eduard Bablidze, Robert Bondara, Michał Chróścielewski, Tomasz Fabiański, Paulina Jurkowska, Adam Kozal, Lachlan Phillips, Kristóf Szabó, and Kurusz Wojeński. The showcase takes place on 20 March 2015 at 6 pm at the Chamber (Młynarski) Hall of the Teatr Wielki ? Polish National Opera.
Apart from Kozal and Szabó, who debut as choreographers, the participants have taken part in previous editions of the workshop, which aims at enabling dancers not only to try their hand at choreography but also coordinate technical aspects of a ballet’s production, including costume and lighting design.
The work of the whole group was coordinated by Paweł Koncewoj as the workshop’s manager.
Next presentations: 21 March, 6 pm; 22 March, 5 pm
Krzysztof Pastor, director of the PNB, about his initiative:
When introducing the annual choreographic workshop for the Polish National ballet’s dancers I didn’t expect the results to be so positive. The six previous editions resulted not only in a few dancers putting on their choreographies at the Teatr Wielki ? Polish National Opera, but also having been noticed and engaged by other Polish and international companies. I mean in particular Robert Bondara, Anna Hop, but other new talents are waiting in the wings.
Choreographies:
Eduard Bablidze: Sonnets
Robert Bondara: Czkawka [Hiccups]
Michał Chróścielewski: Ojciec Chrzestny [The Godfather]
Tomasz Fabiański: W głowie tej [In This Head]
Paulina Jurkowska: Kreacje [Creations]
Adam Kozal: 4.44
Lachlan Phillips: Farce
Kristóf Szabó: Z tego, co we mnie niezręczne [Out Of My Awkwardness]
Kurusz Wojeński: ParaDuet
