On Sunday (7 pm), Warsaw?s Teatr Wielki ? Polish National Opera will host a unique presentation of the London-based Company Wayne McGregor?s piece FAR, giving the Polish audience a taste of the style and aesthetics of one of Europe?s foremost and most popular choreographers. The event will end the 7th Days of Dance and inaugurate the 22nd International Meeting of Live Arts ROZDROŻE/CROSSROADS 2015, organized annually by the Art and Its Time Foundation and the Centre for Contemporary Art ? Ujazdowski Castle.

FAR features a dynamic choreography by Wayne McGregor?s, co-created and performed by a group of dancers against the background of a moving screen displaying abstract paintings. Inspired by the age of Enlightenment, the piece touches upon an era which radically changed our approach to human understanding of the body. Ten dancers move to the suggestive music by Ben Frost (highly regarded composer, collaborator of Brian Eno), confronting present-day sensitivity with the deformations, sensuality and emotions typical of the 18th century. Staged in a hypnotic chiaroscuro setting by the multiple award-winning project studio Random International and Lucy Carter, the performance combines avant-garde design with a choreography which stems from fascinations related to cognitive processes.
