Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź ms? (ul. Więckowskiego 36) is pleased to invite everyone to the presentation of Noa Shadur?s Entropy. The piece is based on dance compositions by movement artist and researcher Noa Eshkol, whose works are featured as part of the Moved Bodies. Choreographies of Modernity exhibition. In the 1950s she co-created the Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation (EWMN), the system that allows for the mapping of bodily movement in space through geometric values: within that system, movement is equated to matter that can be measured, ordered and quantified. The notation was not only used in the realm of the art but also that science as well, becoming a valuable tool in investigations of the paradigms for movement.
Through her study and interpretation of Eshkol?s original dance compositions, Shadur re-interprets and challenges Eshkol?s conception of movement. She adapts the emotional, thematic and physical tension of Eshkol?s original work in an effort to reveal the illusory nature of order in movement: the organization and policing of the body are belied by thinly veiled chaos.
Within the scope of the exhibition Moved Bodies. Choreographies of Modernity Shadur?s choreography becomes an unfolding process that interprets the relations of body, movement, space and sound, with dancers performing simultaneously in different exhibition rooms.
The presentation of Entropy on Sunday, 12 February 2017, will mark the closing of the exhibition at the Museum. The hour of the presentation will be announced soon.

Noa Shadur is an independent choreographer & video artist based in Tel Aviv. She graduated with BA in Dance and Choreography from ArtEZ Institute for the Arts in Arnhem, Holland. Her work has been presented in festivals in Israel and internationally. She is a teacher and guest choreographer in institutes such as Artez Institute for the Arts (Holland); Kibbutz Gaaton Workshop (Israel); Kibbutzim College (Tel Aviv, Israel), Academy for Dance and Music (Jerusalem). She has received awards and prizes including: 2009 and 2014 prize for Upcoming Choreographer from the Israeli Ministry of Culture; First Prize, 2013 International Choreography Competition, No Ballet, Ludwigshafen, Germany; 2010 DanceWEB scholar, Impulstanz, Vienna; First Prize, Vdance International Video Dance Festival, Tel Aviv; Certificate of Distinction, American Dance Festival, Dance for the Camera, USA; Best Film, POOL07 Festival, Berlin, Germany.
