We are glad to inform that Rafał Dziemidok has begun his residency in Berlin as the first Polish artist to take part in the residency programme ran by Poland’s Institute of Music and Dance, Mica Moca and Uferstudios. The premiere of My life in tears, a Koncentrat Artistic Group production, is scheduled to take place at Uferstudios on 31 May.
Description of the project:
My life in tears is the new creation of Koncentrat Artistic Group, an internationally working artistic enterprise, currently seated in Berlin. The piece strives to preserve the abstract nature of the movement language and let this meet a notion of a character, created by Rafał Dziemidok. This combination opens new ways and manners to explore the communication with the audience.
The character searched for the piece is the storyteller, master of ceremony, comedian, and clown. The combination of such cliche characters enables the performer to follow their culturally given permission to amuse, to tell stories, to move and to preach to the audience. The stories of these figures are mostly sublimation of their own, personal experience. The figurative, non-linear, yet linguistically rich narration style used in the piece is inspired by paintings of Hieronymus Bosch and was developed within the framework of „Laboratoire Bestiaire“, a master class held in March 2012 in La Briqueterie in Val de Marne.
