A dance graduation performance of the 4th year Dance Theatre students at the State Drama School in Bytom will be premiered on Thursday, 24 January 2013, at 6.00 pm in Bytom (24a Piłsudzkiego Street). Kocham tylko i wyłącznie całym sercem nie-rozłącznie Magdalenę/I love Magdalena only, with my whole heart, never apart from Magdalena was directed and choreographed by Jacek Łumiński. Next performances on 25–27 January, at 7.00 pm.

People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Young people are looking for the meaning of life, role models, fascinations, ideals. It was ever thus. Each time each new generation stands up to the established, socially acceptable vision of our life. They demonstrate their attitudes in all kind of protest movements which occasionally affect our society. To put it simply, desires and aspirations of contemporary youth are probably not so different from desires and aspirations of their peers in the past. They are marked by diversity, quantity and quality shaped by media, consumption, technology and multuculturalism. They send e-mails and sms, watch Idol, chat, read fantasy, spend a lot of time on surfing the Internet or zapping from channel to channel. They are influenced by mass media. On the other hand, they are fascinated by the new mysterious world of clubbing fulfilling their innermost dreams, giving acceptance and alternative cultural identities. In clubbing culture there are various subculture groups offering the sense of community, strength and self-fulfillment.Alternative public space of clubs is less restrictive and support protest movements.
Rebellion of young people is a way of adaptation through rejecting imposed social goals and socially acceptable means of achieving them. They replace them with own goals and means. Rebellious behaviours may occur in rejection of dominant culture and willingness to replace it whit counterculture. They rebel against social limitations imposed to man in its private sphere. They rebel because they are dissatisfied, they cannot fulfil their dreams which they hide from society out of the fear of being stigmatized and because they are more and more unhappy about it. When our relations with family and friends become weaker because you feel ashamed of your feelings, and hide them, “you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain”.
