On Friday, 21 June, the participants of the congress of the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) taking place in Wrocław and Wałbrzych will discuss the current condition of the performing arts in Poland, talking about the challenges and opportunities it faces, funding of arts, and the role the European Union is playing in it. The discussion session, taking place at the Ksiaż Castle in Wałbrzych, will feature as speakers: Lech Dzierżanowski (Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra, Poland), Grzegorz Jarzyna (theatre director, Poland), Elżbieta Sikora (composer, Poland) and Joanna Szymajda (Institute of Music and Dance, Poland), with Michał Merczyński acting as moderator (MALTA International Theatre Festival & National Audiovisual Institute, Poland).

After the discussion session a music and dance piece by Kaya Kołodziejczyk, a dancer and choreographer of the young generation, will be performed to music by Witold Lutosławski performed live. The performance has been commissioned by the Wrocław Philharmonic and the Institute of Music and Dance. Dancers will include: Kaya Kołodziejczyk, Ilona Gumowska and Sławek Bendrat.
