On Friday, 4 October (7 pm) Club Żak in Gdańsk (ul. Grunwaldzka 195/197) presents the Polish premiere of DP1,a duo from Izabela Chlewińskaand Tomasz Bergmann. The world premiere took place in June 2013 at X Theater in Tokyo.

DP1is not a stage piece, not a concert, not a film, not an installation, not a lecture, not a performance. Dehumanized Project Nr 1is an experiment on dehumanisation and new singularity. It is a clash of anti-globalist ideas and improvised music, new dance and absurd show. DP1 is a stage piece, a concert, a film, an installation, a lecture, a performance.

Izabela Chlewińska is a dancer, choreographer and independent artist. She won the prestigiousDanceWeb scholarship for young dancersand choreographers (Vienna), and was twice awarded a scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.She is a member of the association of independent choreographers Centrum w Ruchu in Warsaw and Embassy of…, a collective bringing together over 70 artists worldwide. She has shown her pieces, including Ophelia is not deador Tralfamadoria, in Germany, Mexico, Japan and the USA. Her latest project, DP1 premiered at X Theater in Tokyo, is a collaboration with musician and visual artist Tomasz Bergmann. Chlewińska works with Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre and Ramona Nagabczyńska (Le Sacre,New(Dis)Order). Since 2008 she has been working as choreographer with a range of dramatic theatres.
Tomasz Bergmann is a multimedia artist: cinematographer, photographer, musician, video artist, and director of avant-garde advertising spots and music videos. He has won Webstar Creative and Drewniany Yach awards. As photographer he has collaborated with most of Poland’s high-profile magazines: Twój Styl, Playboy, Zwierciadło, Uroda, Cosmopolitan. Bergmann is a co-leader of the music formation Mordy, which has released 4 albums: Normalforma(Antena Krzyku, 2000),Zapiski ze strychu(Mordy Rec. 2002), Off Fruits(Post_Post , 2003) and Nobody(Nasiono 2011). Since 2008 has collaborated as video artist with Wybrzeże Theatre (Gdańsk), Bagatela Theatre (Kraków), Współczesny Theatre (Szczecin), Lodz 4 Cultures Festival (Łódź), Institute of Urban Culture (Gdańsk). As musician and performer he also joins forces with independent artists (e.g. Jakub 2with Filip Szatarski and Grzegorz Welizarowicz;BCDwith Oleg Dziewanowski, DP1with Izabela Chlewińska).
