At the turn of August and September, maat festival – border line is hosting a pair of new residents, Korina Kordova i Przemysław Kamiński, who are going to spend 11 days in Lublin working on their duo. Their work will be video recorded by Patrycja Płanik for her project DANCE.DOC.

The artists about the project:

During our residency in Lublin we are going to explore the relation between choreography and witchcraft. We will be collecting magical objects, holding worm-ups/rituals, mixing secret concoctions, trying to communicate with spirits, undertaking astral travel, squatting other bodies, and floating outside of our bodies. In our work we’ll be using body swap, which is a processes leading up to two persons’ performing a mental swap as a result of which each ends up in the other’s body.

On6 September (7 pm)Tomasz Bazan will host a meeting with the artists at Lublin’s cafe KAWKA. The discussion will revolve around dance, body, what dance is and what it is not, and the condition of Polish contemporary dance. The meeting will also be recorded by Patrycja Płanik; her documentary on Polish dance will be shown during the 5th Maat Festival.

As part of their residency, on8 September (4 pm),the artists will run another dance lesson in the maat festival series. Unusually, Lesson 6 will take place in the courtyard of the newly renovated Culture Centre in Lublin, whose official opening is planned for 20 September. To participate, please register atzapisy.maat@gmail.com.
