We are pleased to announce that Maciej Kuźmiński has been named Guest Pedagogue With the CODARTS contemporary dance conservatory in Rotterdam. Kuźmiński?s first meeting with freshman students will include artistic methodologies and a class in composition. In the subsequent period, the pedagogue will conduct an extensive, two-week workshop in floor work for junior students.
The Codarts Hogeschool voor de Kunsten is Holland?s foremost artistic conservatory, And its Contemporary Dance Departament is considered one of the best in the world. The school places emphasis on technical training, enabling its alumni to find engagements with major dance companies such as Nederlands Dans Theater, Akram Khan Company, Cullberg Ballet or Carte Blanche. Since 2004, many Polish dance artists, among other Jakub Mędrzycki (currently with Norddans), Izabela Orzełowska (Pink Mama Theatre, freelancer), Filip Wągrodzki (Scapino Ballett Rotterdam), have completed their training at Codarts, which had also hosted Anna Majcher in that role before.
Maciej Kuźmiński?s collaborations as pedagogue include conservatories and professional companies in Poland and worldwide. In 2018, he has taught for London’s Trinity Laban, Canada’s University of Calgary, the Serbian Belgrade Dance Institute, the Polish Dance Theatre, and the Bitef Company in Belgrade. From 2014 to 2017 he was a full time teacher at the Dance Theatre Department in Bytom affiliated with the Ludwik Solski National Theatre Academy in Cracow (currently known as the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow).
