Aleksandra Borys and Wojciech Grudziński?s study visit to New York and Philadelphia, organised by Movement Research as part of the GPS/Global Practice Sharing Program in collaboration with the Art Stations Foundation and the Institute of Music Dance, is now under way. During the visit, the artists will participate in the events held as part of the Movement Research Fall Festival, while also presenting their practices/works-in-progress during a special night shared with local artists at the historic Judson Church (3 December), preceded by an artist talk with the other participants of the program (GPS Chats, 28 November). This inaugural GPS Chats is launching as part of the Movement Research Festival Fall 2018 and features Polish artists Aleksandra Borys and Wojciech Grudziński in conversation with Hadar Ahuvia and Mariana Valencia. The Chat will be moderated by Marýa Wethers, Director of International Initiatives, GPS/Global Practice Sharing program). The Polish artists? residency in New York began on 24 November and will wrap up on 9 December 2018. Borys and Grudziński are then scheduled to spend a week in Philadelphia, where they will present their pieces and hold workshops as part of a collaboration with Mascher Dance. The presentations of Grudziński?s Populuxe and Borys?s Momentum* will take place on 14-15 December at the seat of Mascher Dance.

The performances by Aleksandra Borys and Wojciech Grudziński are presented as part of Movement Research’s Global Practice Sharing (GPS) exchange program, in partnership with Art Stations Foundation (Poznan), Institute of Music and Dance (Warsaw) and Polish Cultural Institute New York (NYC). The artists? residency was organized with the support of Art Stations Foundation with funding from the Institute of Music and Dance (Poland) and the GPS/Global Practice Sharing program of Movement Research with funding from the Trust for Mutual Understanding (USA).
Movement Research is a free, high visibility low-tech forum for experimentation, emerging ideas and works-in-progress held in the Fall and Spring seasons. Artists are selected by a rotating committee of peer artists, and join Movement Research Artists-In-Residence and international guests each season in performing at the historic Judson Memorial Church.
