Dancers of the Polish Dance Theatre are busy preparing to the first premiere of the new season ? Open Field by Israeli choreographer Nadar Rosano. The performance is produced in association with the Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw under the 2014 Choreographic Commissions programme. The premiere is planned for 19 and 20 September (8 pm), and will take place at MP2 in the Poznań International Fair complex.

Open Field ties to map out boundaries of individual freedom within a society. As the choreographers says, human relations create, on one hand, closed, constricting spaces, while, on the other, they  devise “open fields” where individuals may look for new ways to make themselves distinctive, to shape their identity in the face of the community they are part of. The piece is also an attempt to find out how limits set up by the collective may be extended, and what happens when all social norms are discarded.

Tickets for the premiere are available at the Polish Dance Theatre’s impresario office and on: http://bilety.ptt-poznan.pl/.

Prize: 20/40 PLN

The premiere of Open Field will be coupled with the showing of Need me, a choreography by Andrzej Adamczak.

Need Me

Two elements trapped in one body. Competition and adoration. Demonstration of strength penetrating the pursuit of common goal. Is it possible for us to exist without our ?ego?? To which point does it help us maintain the sensations of consistency and integrity of our own identity? How strongly are we bound with it, are we capable of modifying and cooperating with it?
