Poznań?s Old Brewery New Dance and the Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk are pleased to invite everyone to the Solo Projekt Plus 2017 premiere night. As part of the evening, Przemek Kamiński and Kasia Wolińska will present their new pieces, created in collaboration with the artistic coach of the programme, Guy Cools.
About the pieces:
Przemek Kamiński: Pharmakon (it radiates)
Blue screen is a post-production technique that allows image manipulation. By using an even, blue background, the camera-recorded action can be transferred to a completely different scenery. In his latest performance, Przemek Kamiński refers to the cultural history of the colour blue, approaching it through the prism of the ancient Greek term pharmakon, meaning medicine, poison, and something that must be sacrificed. The artist creates a series of vertical landscapes, in which a body irradiated by the colour moves between the visible and the imagined. The first and second plan, as well as viewers’ fantasies, blend into each other, while the identity is negotiated along and across the surface of the screen.

Przemek Kamiński is a performer and choreographer.
He creates and presents his pieces in the contexts of performing and visual arts, focusing on choreography as an expanded practice, which unfolds into variety of formats and media. He is interested in working with existing and circulating forms, strategies of borrowing, remixing, and re-mediating, as well as comprehensive choreographic research in the process of embodiment. His works have been presented, amongst others at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi, Labirynt Gallery in Lublin, Jan Tarasin City Art Gallery in Kalisz, Art Stations Foundation in Poznań, Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, Hamburger Bahnhof Museum fur Gegenwart in Berlin, PQ Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space in Prague, Malta Festival in Poznań or Uferstudios in Berlin. Kamiński received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, Context, Choreography at HZT Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin. He was an artist-in-residence at I.C.I./CCN in Montpellier and the Visegrad Artistic Residency Fund at art quarter budapest in Hungary. He also participated in numerous research programmes, including the Research Academy (Zurich University of the Arts); Artists Research Laboratory (Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como) or the Alternative Dance Academy (Art Stations Foundation w Poznaniu), from which he was awarded a scholarship. He regularly collaborates with the dramaturge Mateusz Szymanówka ans (as dancer) with the Berlin-based choreographer Isabelle Schad.
Kasia Wolińska: Dance, pilgrim, dance [I see America dancing]
Lenin himself applauded Duncan when she performed in Moscow?s Bolshoi Theatre to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the October Revolution. After she returned to the USA, the Soviets sent her a telegram: ??The Russian government can fully alone understand you. Come to us; we will make establish you a school for you.?
Isadora Duncan revolutionized the form of dance at the beginning of the 20th th century and then went to Moscow to use her dancing body to campaign for the revolutionary ideas. ?The Revolutionary? was the choreography made around 1923 that must have ruined Duncan?s reputation back home.
The piece investigates the underexplored histories of modern dance and choreography particularly as they relate to reclaiming the spectrum of the socialist and the communist legacy.

Kasia Wolińska was born in Gdańsk. She graduated in choreography and dance techniques from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, and received a degree in ethnology from the University of Łódź. She also completed studies in dance and choreography at the HZT Inter-University Centre for Dance in Berlin.
Named the dancewebber of 2015, she has collaborated with the Hi Mary project since 2013, performing in Berlin, Gdańsk, Kalisz, Łódź, Norberg, New York, Warsaw, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen. In 2014, she was a resident at Centro Selva in Peru, and at the 2015 transeuropa festival in Germany. She also participated in the Global Practice Sharing programme (Movement Research/ Art Stations Foundation/Institute of Music and Dance) in New York. Her collaborations include Rosalind Crisp, Vincent Bozek, Julia Plawgo, Agata Siniarska, Lea Martini, Martin Hansen, Ivo Serra, Eva Tanko, Diego Agullo, Tatiana Kamieniecka, Ula Zerek, Pere Faura, Karol Tymiński, Marta Ziółek, Gosia Wdowik, among others.
