Between 14 and 17 February 2019, the Department of Dance and Gymnastics of the Eugeniusz Piasecki University of Physical Education in Poznań in collaboration with its Student Research Club ? Dance Science Laboratory will hold the First International Scientific Conference Dance Connections. The Conference aims to show various perspectives on movement and dance in the context of health sciences. The subject matter of the Conference is strongly related to the development of movement in a health-oriented perspective, bearing in mind that Polish dance is still primarily perceived in aesthetic terms, as a field of art form. Its rehabilitative and therapeutic powers are still vastly underrated. During lectures and workshops, the Conference guests will present different ways of looking at movement and dance.

The conference is addressed to physiotherapists, athletes, lecturers, dancers, teachers and trainers of physical culture and fitness, in addition to anyone interested in personal development from the motor side.

In the first part of the Conference (14 and 15 February), the practical side will be examined from the theoretical standpoint, whereas the workshops of the second part (16 and 17 February) will attempt to translate the theory into practice. Participation in the theoretical part of the Conference is free of charge. However, registration is required for both parts.
