Since its 21st volume (2020), “Studia Chorelogica” has been the only Polish-English academic journal devoted to dance. It was created by choreologist, dance anthropologist, and founder of the Institute of Choreology in Poznań – prof. dr hab. Roderyk Lange. The first ten volumes (1999–2008) were published in English, and the authors of the texts were dance researchers from European academic centers. From the 11th volume (2010), “Studia Choreologica” became the official publication of the Polish Choreological Forum, and the texts were published in Polish until the aforementioned volume 21st (2020), from which annual is published bilingually.
The topics presented cover a wide range of dance issues – from contemporary artistic culture, through contemporary educational thought, Polish folk dance and non-European cultures, to issues related to the history and theory of dance. The authors of the texts come from both academic and artistic circles. Experienced editors are responsible for the linguistic form and substantive level of publications. In addition, texts are reviewed.
The co-publishers of the annual “Studia Chorelogica” are the Polish Choreological Forum and the National Institute of Music and Dance.
