On 24 October, the premiere of the Wink will take place in Grotowski Institute. The performance was created as a part of the Choreographic Comissions 2025 program organized by National Institute of Music and Dance.
Is it right to ask, who casts the first glance? Can one tell which way the gaze falls? And if not, then who is actually performing? The viewer that looks? The viewer that is looked at? The stage which watches, the stage that is watched?
(Paulina Pawłowska)
Wink is Paulina Pawłowska’s debut full-length performance, marking the culmination of her artistic practice to date. Situated in a choreographic landscape of pleasure and purgatory, it entices viewers into its musings on the correlations between power, sexuality and spectatorship – hinting at their entanglement in them.
