Janusz Marek – promoter of artistic projects in Warsaw and international cultural collaboration, curator of show arts programmes of the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw and Sztuka i Współczesność Foundation.
He graduated in Polish studies from the University of Warsaw (theatre studies). In 1987–1992 he worked at the Centre for Art Studio (CSS). Author and organizer of all editions of the International Live Arts Festival “Crossroads” (from 1994) presenting events which combine theatre, contemporary dance and visual arts (among others Pina Bausch, Rosas, Kazuo Ohno or Trisha Brown).
For many years a member of IETM (international network for contemporary performing arts). Author of lectures and publications on theatre and contemporary dance. He was a juror of the Polish Dance Platform 2010 in Poznań (“Old Brewery New Dance”).
He was nominated for Polityka’s Passport (1998). In 1999 he received the Belgian Order of the Crown for collaboration with contemporary dance circles in Belgium.
