Mariola Hendrykowska – dancer, choreographer’s assistant and stage manager in the Polish Dance Theatre. She graduated from ballet school in Poznań in 1970. She learnt from the best: Olga Sławska-Lipczyńska, Teresa Kujawa and Władysław Milon; after graduating, she was engaged by Conrad Drzewiecki to the Poznań Opera’s Ballet. In 1973 she witnessed a historical moment, when the Polish Dance Theatre Poznań Ballet came into being. She has been collaborating with the Theatre until now.
She danced all solo parts in the Polish Dance Theatre’s repertoire – from Conrad Drzewiecki’s “Adagietta”, “Les Biches”, “Mars and Flora”, “Song on the Night” and “Aquarians” to Ewa Wycichowska’s “Faust goes rock”, “Mozart a piacere” and “The Mad Fiddler”.
She was a first soloist and the ballet director; currently she holds a position of choreographer’s assistant and stage manager. She still takes part in the Theatre’s performances (…and I dance, Transss…, szparagijem, 3×3).
A winner of numerous awards, including City of Poznań Merit Badge, Medal of 200 Years of Polish Ballet, Bogusławski Medal, Biały Bez Award, title of the Most Popular Actor of Greater Poland, Medal of Merit to Greater Poland as well as Culture Award of the Marshall of Greater Poland Voivodeship.
