It is now possible to register for the tenth jubilee edition of the contact improvisation festival Warsaw FLOW/ re:mix, organised from 7 to 14 July 2019 by the Art Foundation PERFORM. The Festival has been held in Warsaw since 2010 offering a place of confrontation between beginner and advanced dancers with renowned contact improvisation practitioners from Poland and abroad.
This summer, the dancers will have an opportunity to take part in a performance art project with Melissa Monteros, rounded off with a public performance, and anyone is welcome to join intensive workshops conducted by Ray Chung, Grzegorz Pawłowski or Charlie Morrissey or take part in site-specific workshops conducted by Iwona Olszowska. Every day throughout the festival, the participants will have a chance to attend jam sessions and have their own space dedicated to personal exploration. For the first time in its history, the Festival will cooperate with the Mazowsze Cultural Institute (Mazowiecki Instytut Kultury), the venue of all the workshops, except site-specific workshops which will be held throughout the city.
The organisers of the Festival?s tenth edition encourage the participants to focus on:
– dance as a tool of working on one?s own process of personal development
– preparing a performance art programme with the help of contact improvisation techniques and improvisation with dancers and performance artists
– movement activities leading to changes in the awareness of the capabilities and potential improvement of one?s own body.
