Sopot Dance Theatre: Premiere of Something Beautiful chor. Jacek Krawczyk and Joanna Czajkowska

Na Plaży Theatre in Sopot (al. Mamuszki 2) will present the premiere of Coś pięknego (Something Beautiful), on 22?23 April at 7 pm. The piece, performed by the Sopot Dance Theatre, was directed and choreographed by Jacek Krawczyk and Joanna Czajkowska. The work is inspired by Federico Fellini?s film masterpieces, such as La dolce vita, La strada, 8?, Orchestra Rehearsal and City of Women. Something Beautiful seems to be a reflection on the meaning of life, on the passing of individuals and civilizations, and a nostalgic study of loneliness, or perhaps an expression of nostalgia for true intimacy and love....

Beijing: Sopot Dance Theatre to perform at the 8th Beijing Fringe Festival

Gdańsk: Results of the Residency/Premiere 2017 competition announced

The Residency/Premiere project has organised as part of the Gdańsk Dance Festival since 2009. 28 pieces have been presented within the scope of the project: some of them have seen over 30 presentations in Poland and abroad. Each residency brought about new experience and artistic relations.   From February to June 2017, Gdańsk?s Club Żak will produce five projects. Selected dancers will receive funding to realize their project proposals, ranging from PLN 3,000 for solo pieces through PLN 15,000 for ensemble pieces, as well as technical assistance (acoustics and lighting personnel), pre-premiere publicity, a chance to use the club?s rehearsal...
