Agata Maszkiewicz is a choreographer and performer born in Warsaw. She has worked mainly in Austria and France, but also in Poznań, in collaboration with the Art Stations Foundation (Old Brewery New Dance Programme). In 2009 she graduated in dance from the Institute of Dance Arts, Anton Bruckner Privatuniversitaet, Linz. She won a scholarship from the Dance Web programme in 2006. In 2007 she continued her professional training, beginning studies at the Centre of Choreography in Montpellier as a participant of the programme ex.er.ce.managed by Xavier le Roy.

She has collaborated with many artists, including the Superamas ensemble (You DreamBig 3Casino), Ivana Müller (60 minutes of opportunism), Alix Eynaudi (Komposition, The Visitantslong long short long short), and Anne Juren (Komposition). Some of these works were presented also in Poland  Big 3 was shown at the International Contemporary Dance Festival Body/Mind in Warsaw or Komposition at the Malta Festival (Old Brewery New Dance at Malta)in Poznań in 2011.

She has also created her own performances to date, these have been, e.g.  Snowflakes (premiere: Sommerszene in Salzburg, 2008), a solo Polska (Brut Theatre in Vienna, 2009) and Don Kiewicz & Sanczo Waniec (Brut Theatre, 2011). The Polish premiere of her first solo, Polska [Poland], took place at the Old Brewery in Poznań, and since then the piece has also been shown at the Warsaw Dance Scene festival (2012), the International Contemporary Dance Festival KRoki in Kraków (2014) and the 10th Mandala Performance Festival (2014).

She completed her latest work, a duo called Pojedynek [A Duel] in the autumn of 2013. Originally the piece featured Agnieszka Dmochowska-Sławiec and Karen Lambk, but currently is performed by the choreographer and Anouk Gonzalez.

In her works Agata uses choreography as the main dramaturgical means. She understands dance as more or less structured movement, not necessary made by human bodies. Her point of reference is the social reality she lives in. What she attempts to do on stage, is to render it in a poetic or humorous way.

Her works have been presented in Poland, Austria, Belgium, France, Israel, Hungary, Germany and the Czech Republic.
