Jacek Tyski a soloist in the Polish National Ballet, dancer, choreographer. He graduated from the Roman Turczynowicz State Ballet School. In 1993, he won First Junior Prize at the 8th Polish Dance Competition in Gdańsk, and in 1994 Second Prize at the International Competition for Young Dancers Prix de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland (Scholarship to John Neumeier’s Hamburg Ballet School). He went on to study at the Hamburg John Neumeier’s Ballet School (19941995). From 1995, he worked in Hamburg Ballet. In 2000, he joined Compaa Nacional de Danza Nacho Duato, where he dance until 2004. In 20042007, he was a soloist in the Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera. In 2007, he went to Las Palmas to co-create Ballet de Gran Canaria. Since January 2007 the president of Centrum Tańca Współczesnego/Centre for Contemporary Dance Foundation. In 2009, he came back to Warsaw and joined the Polish National Ballet as a soloist. There, he has performed demi-classical and contemporary parts of the whole repertoire. His parts include: Fairy Carabosse and Puss in Boots in Sleeping Beauty, Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, Prince, Toy Soldier and Chinese Dance in The Nutcracker, Cinderella’s Step-Sister in Cinderella, Envious Baron in Tristan, Head Fakir Magdaveya and Golden Idol in La Bayadre, Soloist in Alpha Cryonia Xe, A Few Brief Sequences, Third Symphony Song of the Night, Contemporary Seraphim in Six Wings of Angels (by Jacek Przybyłowicz), Our-Other Man in And the Rain Will Pass… and soloist in The Green. He also distinguished himself in Jiri Kilians choreographies: Svadebka and Sechs tänze, staged at the ballet evening in 2006, at the Teatr Wielki Polish National Opera. Author of many choreographies, which were created, among others, at choreography workshops Kreacje and commissioned by theatres and festivals.
