Karolina Wiśniewska – a first soloist in the Poznań Grand Theatre ballet. She graduated with honours from the Secondary Ballet School in Bytom. She took part in numerous dance concerts, contests and workshops, including contemporary, jazz, flamenco and butoh dance. She won the W. Wiesiołłowski 12th National Dance Competition in Gdańsk (2001), the silver medal in the international Classical Dance Competition Odyssee de la danse in Lyon (France, 2002) and 2nd prize in the International Dance Competition in Brno (Czech Republic 2003). She made her debut, as a student, at the Silesian Opera in Bytom, as the Queen of Dryads in the premiere of Minkus’ ballet Don Quixote. After finishing her ballet education in 2005, she was engaged as a coryphée by the S. Moniuszko Grand Theatre’ ballet group in Poznań. After two years she was promoted to soloist. She danced solo roles including: Good Fairyteller and Spanish Dance in Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Artemida-Aretuza in Szymanowski’s Myths, Hypolite and Lubczyk in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Nigth’s Dream.
