Małgorzata Haduchis a dancer and choreographer. Born in Kraków, Poland, she graduated from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2004) and is an active member of the Dutch free jazz scene, having collaborated in the last decade with Ab Baars, Wilbert de Joode, Andy Moor, Arnold de Boer, Colin McLean, Onno Govaert and John Dikeman. She claims that live improvised music stimulates her to discover powerful, individual expression in herself, forces her to shut down all control mechanisms and transforms sound into a new abyss of movement.
In 2006 in Amsterdam Haduch founded Unfinished Company, a group of international artists of different disciplines (contemporary dance, music, video art, photography) who have been staging mainly improvised performances in which dance and music coexist creating one art form. The performances are encounters of strong personalities, clashes of different experiences, energies and imaginations. Among the members of the group have been such dancers as Makiko Ito, Jouni Järvenpää, Kirstine Kyhl Andersen and Marysia Stokłosa.
In 2009 Małgorzata won the danceWEB scholarship (Vienna) and became a Solo Projekt resident at Stary Browar/Old Brewery (Poznan). These resulted in her creating Zona Segura. The solo, performed partly in complete darkness, discusses the bodily experience of intimacy and the feeling of security.
Małgorzata has been the only Polish dancer to take part in the project 50 days Costa Rica led by choreographer David Zambrano. The master class brought together fifty dancers who worked together for fifty days in Costa Rica, forming as a result a group of artists who have been collaborating and performing across the globe in different configurations since 2010. Before that Małogorzata was guest choreographer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow (2007) and worked for half a year in Peru with the theatre group Deciertopicante (2008).
November 20011 saw the premiere of Haduch’s Wielka Inwencja na spragnione theorbo, uśpiony kontrabas i cztery tancerki [The Great Invention for thirsty theorbo, sleepy double bass and four dancers]. produced as part of the Polish-Cypriot project Old Music New Dance which brings together contemporary choreography and Baroque music. Wielka Inwencja…featured Polish ballet legend Krystyna Mazurówna and Warsaw’s dancer and choreographer Weronika Pelczyńska.
In 2011 Małgorzata received a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage; she has also been supported a few times by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (Polish Culture Worldwide).
Her latest initiative is an original programme FREE THE DANCE. Realised in Kraków,it consists of a series of performances by improvising musician and dancers, who take the art of improvisation to higher levels in the union of the two disciplines – music and dance.
Since 2011 Małgorzata has been regularly teaching David Zambrano’s techniqueFlying Lowand Passing Through, in Kraków and at a range of festivals and events across Poland.
Flying Low & Passing Throughis a dance technique and a language of composition and improvisation created by renowned choreographer David Zambrano. His philosophy of movement influences the language of expression on stage as well as the philosophy of life and reflection on the individual’s condition in the contemporary world. Zambrano’s movement is based on the practice of agility – referring both to the body and mind, and the ability to adopt in any situation and use your life experience at any moment in time. Spontaneously. The key words here are: travelling the space, following your thoughts, the trajectory of where you come from and where you’re heading, cohesion/expansion, searching for spirals in your body and in space, invisible forces and life experience manifesting itself at every moment in time. Of key importance is team work, composition and musicality.
