Monika Szymurska-Prokop – a ballet soloist in the Grand Theatre, Łódź. She graduated from the Feliks Parnell Ballet School in Łódź and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (in ballet pedagogy). She has worked in the Łódź Opera since 1989. In 1995–1997 she also collaborated with the Muscial Theatre in Łódź. Her most important parts include: Flora in The Lady of the Camelias, Mother in Amadeus, Zulma in Giselle, Stepmother in The Sleeping Beauty, Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 3 Marie in The Rehearsal, title role in Kobro. She also danced small classical and contemporary parts, such as the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty as well as Mela and Mada in The Promised Land.
