On October 8th and 9th, in the Central Officers House in Minsk, The Polish Dance Theatre presented two performances: Forty, choreographed by Jo Str?mgren and Harvest, directed by Igor Gorzkowski. The productions are part of the TEART International Theatre Forum. This is a continuation of the Theatre?s tour, which began in Berlin and spans five European capitals. Vilnius, Riga and Bratislava are the next stops on the route of the Theatre.
The TEART International Theatre Forum in Minsk is one of the largest theatre festivals in Belarus. This year the event includes presentations of nine productions from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Belgium, France, Finland, Vietnam and South Korea, as well as shows – as part of the Belarus Open ? of ten most acclaimed Belarusian productions. The program also included master classes, open discussions and meetings with theatre people. The rich history of the previous editions of the festival includes presentations of award-winning productions from all over the world, including those by such renowned directors as Romeo Castellucci, Pippo Delbono, Jurij Butusow, Lew Dodin, Alvis Hermanis, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Stefan Keagi, Jan Klata, Oskaras Koršunovas, Krystian Lupa, and Ohad Naharin.
The artistic journey of The Polish Dance Theatre takes place as part of the Cultural Bridges grant programme held under the auspices of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
The project is part-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Multiannual Programme 2017-2021 – a government programme which combines various initiatives to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence.
