The Art and Present Time Foundation and the Centre for Contemporary Art ? Ujazdowski Castle are delighted to invite everyone to the presentations of INTRO by the (National) Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre, which will take place on Tuesday, 8 November as part of the 23rd International Meeting of Live Arts CROSSROADS. The presentations will begin at 6 pm and 8:30 pm, respectively. The second presentation will be followed by a meeting with the artists.
About the piece:
A hundred years removed from the first Dadaist manifestos, the company led by Leszek Bzdyl created a grotesque piece INTRO to the music of the post-punk band Nagrobki. The piece is a grotesque kaleidoscope filled with contemporary Polish phobias. In INTRO, the Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre is shouting out both mockingly and desperately, ?Dada is Polska!!!?
?Pervaded by an all-desacrating black humour which does not spare anything from ridicule, INTRO resonates stronger than any scholarly discussions, no matter how filled with reasonable arguments. A tangle of red and white symbols, sharp sounds of vuvuzelas, explosives, green-legged partridges, and demonic Muslim women tells us to find a distance lost in the present reality. It is also a provocation for provocation?s own sake, in the grain of the uninhibited Dadaist imagination. Because INTRO is above all a challenge to our myths.?
