Upon presentation of six Solo Dance Contest 2017 competition finalists, the Jury comprised of: Franz Anton Cramer (Germany) ? president of the Jury, Ayrin Ersöz (Turkey), Anna Piotrowska (Poland), Izabela Sokołowska-Boulton (Poland) and Charlie Morrissey (Great Britain) announced its verdict:

 

1st prize in the amount of EUR 3,000 was awarded to w Ruri Mito of Japan for Matou.

 

Justification: ?For courage and dedication in discovering an original movement landscape and for a virtuoso performance of each choreographic element?

 

Two 2nd prizes (EUR 1,500 each) went to:

the Slovenian dancer Jernej Bizjak for the performance of Solo for real (choreographed by Fabio Liberti)

 

Justification: ?For the ability to involve the audience in the piece through a physically demanding performance of an extremely precise and intensive choreography?

 

and to Daniel Morales of Spain for IRM vol.1.

Justification: ?For generosity in sharing his experience through an honestly and intuitively composed piece?

 

The audience award went to Samuli Emery of Finland for the solo We do this. We don?t talk.
