On Friday 27 October (8 pm), Warsaw?s Komuna//Warszawa (ul. Lubelska 30/32) will host the world premiere of PIXO created and choreographed by Marta Ziółek, who returns with another collaborative project featuring the artists that she worked with in Make Yourself, a brilliant and ironic account of individual identity and the power of self-creation. Ziółek?s latest adventure has been inspired by pichaç?o (pixaç?o), a wild graffiti subculture of S?n Paulo, and the gloom of urban jungle. The premiere performances will be presented on Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm.
About the piece:
PIXO is a space suspended between the reality and virtuality. The team of avatars known for their previous project Make Yourself ? Angel Dust, Beauty, Coco, Lordi, Glow, High Speed, and a chansonnier ? descend to the urban underground and roam through the concrete jungle.
Struggling with fame and visibility, and strung out on adrenaline, each of them enters the process of transformation of their body and image, much like figures from a science fiction film.
PIXO is a choreographic tale of disintegration, rage, and a spectacular calligraphy of the body.
PIXO. To disrupt. To detonate. To blow up. To demolish.
