Lublin will host an unprecedented attempt to combine Igor Stravinsky?s The Rite of Spring and Les noces within a visually, choreographically and theatrically coherent whole, developed by a group of Polish and Ukrainian artists. The piece will be performed by a team of almost 200 international artists. The event will be the first production of its scale and complexity (music-, choreography-, and theatre-wise) in Lublin?s history. Stravinsky. Passages is a piece tailored to the new architecture of the Centre, releasing a new kind of energy that will fill the walls of the building whose construction lasted forty years, even more so because the venue of the premiere is also intended as a ?character? in the piece.

Stravinsky. Passages was choreographed by Jacek Łumiński. The piece features the dancers of the Bytom Dance Theatre Department of the PWST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków and the dancers of the Lublin Dance Theatre. The music will be performed by two symphony orchestra (Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Henryk Wieniawski Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra), accompanied by the Kwadrofonik band, four singers, seven drummers, and a special choir comprising Lublin and Lviv artists. The musical direkcor of Stravinsky. Passages is Wojciech Rodek.

Stravinsky. Passages is a coproduction between the Centre for Intercultural Creative Initiatives ?Crossroads? and the Centre for Meeting of Cultures in Lublin.

The piece is presented as part of the 700th anniversary of the City of Lublin.
