The Polish Dance Platform is an event that aims to seek out and promote the most interesting original dance productions made in Poland or by Polish choreographers. The finale of the forthcoming edition of the Polish Dance Platform will be held on 5-8 September 2019
in Gdańsk.
Polish Dance Platform is based on a competition-formula. Performances are being selected by a jury and participants of the final present their works in a four-day showcase. In 2019 the jury was composed of 10 members including artists, journalists, curators and dance theorists. From among almost 100 performances submitted to the competition, the Artistic Committee has selected twelve performances to be presented in Gdańsk.
Apart from the main showcase, the Polish Dance Platform will also encompass such accompanying events as live acts, panel discussions, workshops, Open Platform ? presentations of individual artists and members of the dance community, as well as organizations and institutions engaged in dance production and education.
For the first time, the Polish Dance Platform will also feature the Kids Dance Platform ? a showcase of dance performances dedicated to young audiences. The programme of the Kids Dance Platform encompasses performance presentations, a panel discussion and accompanying events. The Kids Dance Platform will be held on 30-31August 2019 at the Miniatura Theater in Gdańsk.
We kindly invite all dance lovers and professionals interested in Polish choreography to the Polish Dance Platform in Gdańsk. During four days you will have the opportunity to watch amazing performances and participate in meetings and discussions with artists and dance experts.
We hope that the forthcoming edition of the Polish Dance Platform will become an opportunity to catalyze collaboration within the Polish dance community and with international partners.
The Polish Dance Platform is organized by the Insitute of Music and Dance and co-organized by Teatr Dada von Bzdülöw Association and Polka dot Foundation. The main partner of the event is the Institute of Adam Mickiewicz. Co-financed by the City of Gdańsk.
