We are pleased to announce that.Magdalena PtasznikandJanusz Orlikare artists-in-residence in Philadelphia and New Yorkthis fall, continuing an exchange program launched by the Polish Cultural Institute New York and Dance/UP, the Philadelphia branch of Dance USA, national service organisation for the professional dance field, in partnership with the FringeArts Festival and Mascher Space Cooperative. Chez Bushwick, an artist-run multidisciplinary arts organization, is hosting in Brooklyn.
In Philadelphia, the Polish choreographers will participate in Hi Tea, an informal gathering with the extended local dance community at Dance/UP, and Show and Tell, during which visiting and local artists will give short presentations on their current work and process, with photos and video.
The residency week at Chez Bushwick in Brooklyn, NY will expand upon the three weeks spent in Philadelphia, giving each choreographer time to work in the Chez Bushwick Studio in addition to taking and teaching classes with the local dance community.
