The 10th edition of the Short Waves Festival is coming soon. One of the festival staples is the international short films competition Dances with Camera which showcases dance and movement shorts from around the world, which introduce the audience to the unlimited potential of physical expression communicated with cinematic narratives and presented using various forms and genres, from feature films through documentaries, animations, experimental projects and choreographic impressions.


The 2018 Dances With Camera programme includes 23 films from 14 countries. Upon weeks of careful consideration, the curator of the competition, Regina Lissowska-Postaremczak selected the competition entries, which will be assessed by an international jury. Three pictures will be awarded with prizes in the amount of:


1st prize Dances with Camera ? PLN 4,000 (ca. EUR 1,000)
2nd prize Dances with Camera ? PLN 2,000 (ca. EUR 500)
3rd prize Dances with Camera ? PLN 1,000 (ca. EUR 250)

The Jury may also award honourable mentions.


Furthermore, the festival audience will present one film with the Audience Award of PLN 1,000 (ca. EUR 250).


Dances with Camera is organised as part of the 10th edition of the Short Waves Festival, which will take place in Poznań on 20-25 March. Dances with Camera entries will screened on 20-21 March at 7 pm (Studio Słodownia +3, Stary Browar/Old Brewery).
