In April  the performance art programme “A Frog’s Perspective” at the ZAMEK Culture Centre (curator: Anna Królica) is offering a new set of evets. Firstly, on Wednesday, 8 April (7 pm) Iza Szostak will show her solo KARMI GO. As the curator of the programme writes, “In Karmi go solo, Iza Szostak conducts a singular dialogue with a live chicken moving about the stage, trying to copy its actions and presence on the stage. This time, a live chicken is shown on stage in a perverse fashion, as a potential predator, which may choose to attack even a (plush) alligator,?

Directly before the show, you may join Anna Duda, Julia Hoczyk, Mateusz Szymanówka, Rafał Urbacki in a discussion, moderated by Anna Królica, the animal question in dance. “Let’s talk for a while about animals in contemporary dance, let’s think about the place they have. Are they an inspiration for choreographers when they think about physical mobility and focus on the way senses work? Or are they in the centre of choreographic narrations? Or, perhaps, they serve as props, just like in theatre? What is the history of animals’ presence in dance? Is there a debate on animals in dance discourse? If there is, who are the debate’s sides and what are its main topics?”
