On Saturday, 19 October (7pm) Rafał Dziemidok is going to premiere his new piece My life in tears in Poznań’s Old Brewery (Studio Słodownia +3)as part of a series entitled “So what about Polish dance?”. The title of the piece expresses the idea to use dance as a tool to tell specific stories of human life. The project searches a common ground between the need to preserve the abstract nature of the movement language and the specific narrations coming from characters created by the performers. Those characters are storytellers, masters of ceremony, comedians, clowns, or combinations of such cliché figures, who are culturally given permission both to amuse and to preach to the audience. This happens mostly by sublimation of their own, personal experience, stored in their physicality.
