Na Plaży Theatre in Sopot (al. Mamuszki 2) will present the premiere of Coś pięknego (Something Beautiful), on 22?23 April at 7 pm. The piece, performed by the Sopot Dance Theatre, was directed and choreographed by Jacek Krawczyk and Joanna Czajkowska.

The work is inspired by Federico Fellini?s film masterpieces, such as La dolce vita, La strada, 8?, Orchestra Rehearsal and City of Women. Something Beautiful seems to be a reflection on the meaning of life, on the passing of individuals and civilizations, and a nostalgic study of loneliness, or perhaps an expression of nostalgia for true intimacy and love.

The performance is a journey filled with beauty, satire, imagination and reflection on the fate of humans and artists. Composed as a collage, it interprets a range of topics freely. It does not aspire to become a dance adaptation of films, or to provide a recipe for a happy life. To some, La strada is a confession of a seeking artist who needs fascination, euphoria, inspiration and women. Although the performance?s setting and characters are directly influenced by the esthetics of the films created decades ago, the message remains relevant today.
