Fundacja Sztuki Współczesnej (Contemporary Art Foundation) and Zawirowania Dance Theatre present the first International Choreography Competition “WarsawZAWIROWANIAdance” to be held on 17?19 November 2014 as part of the autumn leg of the 10th Zawirowania International Dance Theatre Festival. Over the next two days dancers from different parts of the world ? including Israel, the USA, Vietnam, Columbia, and Spain ? will present their 15-minute etudes before an international jury gathering Elwira Piorun (Zawirowania Dance Theatre, PL), Ofra Idel (Machol Shalem Dance House, IL), Natalia Medina (MASDANZA Festival, ES), Daniel Abreu (CIE. Daniel Abreu, ES), and Ido Tadmor (Israeli Ballet, IL). The presentations are open to the public.


Apart from jury’s awards, the contestants will compete for an audience award, so come, see for yourself what’s going on in young dance around the world, and vote!


The line-up for 17 November: C&C Carlo Massari and Chiara Taviani (Italy), Wioleta Fiuk (Poland), Alexander Carrillo (Columbia/Germany), Megan Mazarick (USA), Denzil Barnes (UK), Eryk Makohon (Poland), Alexandra Rogovska (Ukraine/Germany), James Wilton (UK).


The line-up for 18 November (at Teatr WARSawy): Dama Van Huynh (Vietnam/UK) Csillę Nagy (Hungary), Reinaldo Ribeiro (Brazil/Spain), Roberta Przybyla (Poland/Germany), Carmen Larraz/ Dinamo Danza (Spain), Edo Cedera (Israel).


You may collect free entry passes at the Zawirowania Theatre’s office (ul. Wspólna 61/101) from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm, or half an hour before the start of a showcase at the Festival’s Office at Teatr WARSawy(17 November, at 6 pm; 18 November, at 7:30 pm) and the Centre for Contemporary Art ? Ujazdowski Castle (finale gala, 19 November, at 8:30 pm ).
