The events of the 13th International Contemporary Dance Festival Body/Mind are going to take up Warsaw?s Studio Theatre, Powszechny Theatre, Zachęta art gallery and different public spaces from 18 to 28 September 2014. The theme of this year?s edition is ?Nie musimy być na ty? [We Don?t Need to Be on First-Name Terms].
As each year, the festival will welcome artists representing many different countries, including: Iceland, Belgium, Turkey, Switzerland, France, Germany, or Portugal, not to mention Polish artists presenting a few premieres and collaborations with foreign partners. In total the audience will be able to chose from 10 performances, installations, workshops and panel discussions with artists? participation.
Edyta Kozak, the festival?s artistic director:
This year?s festival will revolve around the society vs. the individual, formation of small communities, networking. We?d like to take a closer look at contemporary forms of communitas and the way how face-to-face, inclusive, and non-hierarchical communities form, carrying a potential for social change.
The festival?s poster is a creation by Lech Rowiński, the Body/Mind Foundation?s long-standing associate (and graphic designer at www.taniecPOLSKA.pl).
