The history of the festival dates back to 1992, when the first festival – at the time of the Cracow Ballet Festival – took place. The festival, organized by the Nowa Huta Community Centre – since 2006 known by its current name – combines professional repertoire with amateur and independent events. Originally dedicated also to foreign projects, recently the festival has focused on Polish – and to significant extent – Cracow choreography. The festival was started by Bożena Makowska from the Nowa Huta Community Centre.
