Throughout 2014, the Baltic Dance Theatre (BDT) will be working on a major project The Netherlands. The premiere is planned for November 2014, but already in March (21-23 March, 7 pm) the audience will be invited to preview performances forming the project’s first stage. It is the second collaboration of the BDT with the world-famous choreographer Jiří Kylián. The Nederlands Dans Theater which he leads is a significant reference for Izadora Weiss, BDT’s artistic director. Kylián and his assistants will work with BDT’s dancers during the preparations for the premiere of his works in November 2014.
The March preview will feature three choreographies: Clash,FunandLight. The first is a work by Patrick Delcroix, Kylián’s long-time dancer and assistant. The other two are pieces by Izadora Weiss: Funtakes inspiration from the vibrant energy of Amsterdam, while Light draws on Vermeer’s masterpiece of Dutch painting, The Milkmaid(or The Kitchen Maid).
