Beata Giza a dancer in the Baltic Dance Theatre. She graduated from Roman Turczynowicz’s Comprehensive Ballet School in Warsaw. In 1998 she received an artistic scholarship from the Fundacja Balet (Ballet Foundation). After graduating she worked for the Wrocław Opera, first as a coryphée, and later as a soloist. In 2005 and 2006 she was a soloist in the Theater Görlitz ballet and between 2006 and 2008 a soloist in the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz. She danced the roles of Clara in The Nutcracker, Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, the Prima Balerina in Paquita, Flora and Putto in Don Quixote and the main role in the Snow White. She also played solo roles, among others in Carmina burana, Chopin, Reigen, Synapsis.

 

Since April 2008 a soloist in BDT. Currently she plays solo parts in Romeo and Juliet, Out, The Rite of Spring, Waiting for…, Midsummer Nights Dream, LightBody MasterThe Tempest, Phaedra by Izadora Weiss, Dream by Wojciech Misiuro, Cinderella by Eugenio Scigliano and Chopinart+ by Emil Wesołowski. She has also danced in No More Play s, Falling Angels performances by Jiří Kylián and Clash by Patrick Delcroix.

 

The winner of Theatre Award from the Mayor of Gdańsk for her role in the ballet Chopinart and Jan Kiepura Musical Theatre Award for the year 2010 for the best dancer, for her role in Chopinart and her role of White in Out by Izadora Weiss. In 2013, on the 31st Day of Dance, she was awarded an honourable Medal of Merit for Polish Culture by the Minister of Culture.
